We've hand-carved the tops of the LM-310F to provide that real 1920s sound, but with enough vibration to still cut through in today's ensemble playing. The thin V profile of the maple neck fits comfortably in the player's hand and our removal of the fretboard extension beyond the 20th fret allows for easy strumming without getting hung up on the extended upper frets. Combine the graceful curves of an authentic F-style body and a graduated solid spruce carved top, and you've got an instrument that not only sounds great out of the box but also one you can hand down to the next generation of players.

The hand-carved LM-520 F-model mandolin is our response to players’ requests for a great-sounding, high-value mandolin with low key appointments. The LM-520 is carefully assembled in the same hand-carved workshop that gave birth to the LM-400 and 700, and has a similar hand-carved, fully graduated spruce top. The solid maple back is also hand-carved, and the solid maple sides complete the all-solid package. The maple neck has a comfortable rounded “V” profile finished with a rosewood fretboard. The compensated adjustable ebony bridge and high quality vintage-style Grover tuning machines insure that these mandolins have great intonation and stay in tune no matter how hard they are played. The LM-590-MS is designed for players who want the rich sound of a solid hand-carved instrument in a resonant thin satin finish with ultra-clean aesthetics. The LM-590's top is hand-carved from solid spruce, and the back and sides are hand-carved from solid maple. The flat fretboard extension provides maximum picking clearance so players can feel comfortable going all the way up the classic v-neck. Despite its stripped down vibe, the LM-590-BR keeps the essentials of a great sounding mandolin, and the solid hand carved woods really open up under the thin satin finish. Hand-carved and graduated from solid select tonewoods and featuring a lightweight nitrocellulose finish for incredible projection, The Loar’s LM-600 Professional F-Style mandolin is an accurate replica of an original 1920’s F5-style model. The hand-buffed tobacco sunburst finish with nitrocellulose lacquer provides a vintage sheen and an authentic pre-war-style bark that will impress even the most avid vintage purist. The LM-600 features a solid hand-carved spruce top, solid hand-carved figured maple back and sides, a one-piece maple neck with rounded ‘V’ profile, bound ebony fretboard and an abalone and mother-of-pearl custom flower pot headstock inlay. The LM-700 is assembled with a one-piece maple neck and bound ebony fretboard, ebony bridge and vintage-style Gotoh tuners.
